Lead with Elite when light output is the concern, the fan is the only fixture in the room, the project is designer or architect specified, the space is a great room or primary suite, or the home runs Control4, Crestron or Josh.ai. Lead with Select for a sweep Elite does not cover, wet location outdoors, oversized airflow (Hydra 120, Size Matters 84, Wynd XL), or a set budget.

Downrods XF-12 through XF-72. Coupler XF-I joins two rods. Sloped ceiling kit XF-SCK to 45 degrees (12/12 pitch); supplied brackets handle up to 30 degrees (7/12 pitch) without it. Fan stabilizer F-STBLZ fits every Modern Forms smart fan.

Blade count is not airflow. Fewer, well pitched blades move more air: Crown 13 degrees, Chill 16 degrees, Radiant 10 degrees.

Claim discipline

Safe to say: Elite Series 2,195 to 2,313 delivered lumens down, up to 3,088 total with uplight; 80 percent more light than the prior generation Elite LED; 90 CRI, five CCT, Tunable White in MyWAC, 50,000 hour LED life; DC motor 70 percent more efficient than traditional AC; six speeds, summer and winter modes, sensorless, no sensors to fail; about seven to nine dollars a year in estimated energy cost on Elite; 194 to 272 CFM per watt by model; 10 fans per remote, 12 per circuit via app, 8 remotes per fan; 150 ft range; lifetime motor, 5 year LED, 2 year finish, 1 year other parts; ENERGY STAR, Title 24 JA8-2016, Title 20; 15 dB on Size Matters 84 inch.

Do not say: a decibel number for any model other than Size Matters 84 inch; "twelve fans on one remote"; "industry leading lumen efficacy"; "the best fan in the industry"; any lead time you have not confirmed that day; any competitor's price from memory.

The five discovery questions

Where is it going, and is it covered or exposed?
What are the room dimensions and the ceiling height?
Is this fan the only light in the room, or is there other lighting?
How many fans, and are they on one switch?
Do you want it to run on a schedule or by voice, or is a remote enough?
